Make shatteringly crisp buffalo chicken taquitos quickly in your air fryer. This recipe uses shredded chicken mixed with buffalo sauce for a spicy, crunchy snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1/4 cup Buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, Buffalo wing sauce, melted butter, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until the chicken is evenly coated.
  2. Lightly warm the corn tortillas in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds to make them pliable.
  3. Place about 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture near one edge of a warm tortilla.
  4. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling to form a taquito. Secure the seam with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat with the remaining filling and tortillas.
  5. Lightly brush or spray the outside of each taquito with olive oil or cooking spray. This helps achieve crispiness.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius).
  7. Arrange the taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch. You may need to cook in batches.
  8. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and very crispy.
  9. Remove the toothpicks before serving. Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • If your tortillas crack when rolling, warm them longer until they are very soft.
  • For extra crispiness, spray the taquitos again lightly with oil halfway through the cooking time.
  • You can prepare the filling ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to two days.
