Make quick, crispy Cajun shrimp skewers using your air fryer. This recipe provides simple steps for perfectly cooked, spicy shrimp ready for a weeknight meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 wooden skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes if using)

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, Cajun seasoning, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss until the shrimp is evenly coated.
  3. Thread 4 to 5 seasoned shrimp onto each skewer. Do not pack them too tightly.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Arrange the shrimp skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain crispiness.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping the skewers halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cooked skewers before serving.
  • If you prefer a dipping sauce, a simple mix of Greek yogurt and a dash of hot sauce works well.
  • Check your air fryer manual for specific preheating recommendations.
