Ingredients
Scale
1 pound fresh asparagus, tough ends trimmed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Wash and thoroughly dry the asparagus. Pat them completely dry with paper towels to help them crisp up.
In a medium bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil until lightly coated.
In a small bowl, mix the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the asparagus and toss gently until the spears are evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
Place the coated asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time. The asparagus should be tender-crisp and the Parmesan should be golden brown.
Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure your asparagus is very dry before coating; moisture prevents crisping.
For extra crispiness, avoid overlapping the asparagus in the basket.
Serve with a side of lemon aioli or ranch dressing for dipping.
