Cook frozen shrimp directly in your air fryer without thawing. This method delivers perfectly cooked, juicy, and slightly crispy shrimp in under 15 minutes, ideal for quick meals or appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen raw shrimp (peeled and deveined, tail on or off)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Take the frozen shrimp directly from the freezer bag. Do not thaw them.
  2. Place the frozen shrimp in a medium bowl. Drizzle with olive oil or spray lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Sprinkle the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper over the shrimp. Toss well until the shrimp pieces are lightly coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 6 minutes.
  7. Open the basket and shake well to flip the shrimp.
  8. Continue to air fry for another 4 to 6 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through. Total cook time is usually 10 to 12 minutes.
  9. Remove immediately and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can toss the shrimp with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch along with the seasonings before cooking.
  • If your shrimp are very large, you may need to add 1 to 2 minutes to the total cooking time.
  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
