Create a bright, fruity, and naturally caffeine-free herbal tea blend featuring the tartness of hibiscus and the sweetness of mixed berries. This recipe is perfect for enjoying hot on a chilly evening or iced on a warm afternoon.

Ingredients

  • Dried Hibiscus Calyces: 1/2 cup
  • Dried Rose Hips: 1/4 cup
  • Dried Elderberries: 2 tablespoons
  • Dried Sweet Blackberry Leaves: 2 tablespoons
  • Dried Raspberry Pieces: 1 tablespoon
  • Dried Blueberry Pieces: 1 tablespoon
  • Dried Strawberry Pieces: 1 tablespoon
  • Dried Orange Peel: 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Measure all dried ingredients accurately.
  2. Gently combine the hibiscus, rose hips, elderberries, blackberry leaves, raspberry, blueberry, strawberry pieces, and orange peel in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the ingredients carefully to avoid crushing the fruit pieces.
  4. Store your finished blend in an airtight container away from light and heat.
  5. To brew, use 1 to 2 teaspoons of the blend per 8 ounces of hot water.
  6. Steep for 7 to 10 minutes for maximum flavor extraction.
  7. Strain the tea and enjoy hot, or chill and serve over ice.

Notes

  • Adjust the steeping time based on your preferred strength. Longer steeping increases tartness.
  • This blend is naturally sweet but you can add honey or a slice of lemon if desired.
  • For an iced tea, double the amount of tea blend used for a standard hot infusion.
  • If you find the flavor too tart, increase the amount of dried berry pieces slightly in your next batch.
