Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 ounces blue cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup fig jam or preserves
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Let them cool slightly.
  4. Spread a thin layer of softened blue cheese onto each toasted baguette slice.
  5. Top the blue cheese with a small dollop of fig jam.
  6. If using, sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  7. Arrange the crostini on a serving platter. Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a milder blue cheese flavor, you can mix it with a little cream cheese.
  • If you don’t have fig jam, any berry preserves will also work well.
  • Toast the baguette slices in advance to save time.
