You can make the famous sweet and creamy Grape Salad from Chicken Salad Chick right in your kitchen. This copycat recipe delivers juicy grapes coated in a rich dressing, topped with crunchy pecans and brown sugar. It is a perfect, easy side dish for potlucks or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds seedless grapes (a mix of red and green works best)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the grapes. Place the dry grapes in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until the dressing is completely combined and creamy.
  4. Pour the creamy dressing over the grapes. Gently fold the dressing into the grapes until all the grapes are evenly coated.
  5. Spread the grape mixture into a serving dish.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans and brown sugar. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the grape salad.
  7. Cover the dish and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For the best texture, make sure your grapes are completely dry before mixing them with the dressing.
  • You can prepare the salad base (grapes and dressing) a day ahead, but wait to add the pecan and brown sugar topping until just before serving.
  • If you want a lighter version, substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
