Ingredients
Scale
1 bag (approx. 10 oz) potato chips
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate)
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water.
Stir in the coconut oil or shortening if using, until fully combined.
Dip each potato chip into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s mostly coated.
Place the chocolate-covered chips on the prepared baking sheet.
Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
Once set, enjoy your sweet and salty snack!
Notes
You can use milk chocolate or dark chocolate depending on your preference.
For a decorative touch, you can drizzle extra melted chocolate over the chips after they have set.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
