Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 recipe for your favorite cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade dough)
  • 1 recipe for your favorite apple pie filling (or 6 cups sliced apples, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1 tbsp lemon juice)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare your cinnamon roll dough according to package or recipe instructions. Roll it out into a rectangle.

  4. Spread the apple pie filling evenly over the cinnamon roll dough, leaving a small border.
  5. Tightly roll up the dough with the filling, starting from one of the longer sides.
  6. Slice the roll into 8-10 equal pieces.
  7. Arrange the cinnamon roll slices cut-side up in a greased pie dish or baking pan.
  8. Brush the tops with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  9. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
