Make a rich, savory garlic parmesan sauce at home that tastes just like your favorite restaurant version. This recipe creates a thick, flavorful coating perfect for wings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Do not let the butter brown.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not burn the garlic.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  4. Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt until the cheese is fully incorporated and the sauce is smooth.
  5. If the sauce seems too thick, you can whisk in a teaspoon of water or chicken broth until you reach your desired consistency.
  6. Toss immediately with hot, cooked chicken wings or serve warm as a dipping sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce that clings well to wings, use very finely grated Parmesan cheese.
  • If you prefer a tangier flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice after removing the sauce from the heat.
  • This sauce works well on roasted vegetables or breadsticks too.
