Ingredients
Scale
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup prepared horseradish, drained
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon prepared white horseradish sauce (the liquid part)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Creole or Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon prepared Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
Combine the mayonnaise, prepared horseradish, ketchup, horseradish sauce liquid, paprika, Creole seasoning, Dijon mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl.
Whisk all ingredients together until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform in color.
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed, adding more cayenne for heat or more horseradish for tang.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the sauce for at least 1 hour before serving. This allows the flavors to fully meld.
Serve cold with fried onion appetizers, fries, or burgers.
Notes
If you prefer a thinner sauce, add a teaspoon of milk or water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
For a substitution, use a good quality prepared horseradish if you cannot find the specific sauce type.
This sauce tastes best after chilling for several hours, so plan to make it ahead of time.
