These Cranberry Brie Puff Pastry Bites are a delightful and easy appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings. They combine the creamy richness of brie with the tartness of cranberry sauce, all enclosed in flaky puff pastry and baked to a golden perfection. A truly elegant treat that’s surprisingly simple to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into 12 equal squares.
  3. Place a cube of brie cheese in the center of each puff pastry square.
  4. Top the brie with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
  5. Bring the corners of the puff pastry up and pinch them together to enclose the filling. Gently twist the top to seal.
  6. Place the pastry bites on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops of the pastry bites with the beaten egg wash.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can use fresh cranberries cooked down into a sauce for a more homemade flavor.
  • For a touch of sweetness, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup over the top after baking is delicious.
  • If you prefer a savory bite, omit the cranberry sauce and add a sprinkle of fresh rosemary or thyme.
