- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
- 8 ounces dark chocolate (at least 70% cacao), chopped
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
- Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. They must be completely dry for the chocolate to adhere properly.
- Thread 3 to 4 strawberries onto small wooden skewers.
- Place the chopped dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Add the coconut oil if you are using it.
- Melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until smooth.
- Hold a skewer and dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate, rotating to coat them.
- Place the coated skewers onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Refrigerate the skewers for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
- Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Ensure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping. Moisture will cause the chocolate to seize or separate.
- You can add a drizzle of white chocolate over the dark chocolate for extra visual appeal once the dark chocolate has set slightly.
- For a richer flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate.
