Make this rich, savory stuffed bread using pizza dough filled with ground beef, bacon, and three kinds of cheese. It is a simple, crowd-pleasing party food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. In a bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, crumbled bacon, mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll or stretch the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12 by 16 inches.
  5. Spoon the meat and cheese filling down the center third of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
  6. Fold one long side of the dough over the filling, then fold the other long side over the first, overlapping slightly to seal the filling inside, creating a loaf shape. Pinch the ends closed securely.
  7. Carefully transfer the loaf seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the top of the loaf evenly with the beaten egg wash. Cut three or four small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is hot throughout.
  10. Let the bread cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the ground beef with cooked Italian sausage for a different flavor profile.
  • For extra richness, brush the baked loaf with melted butter before slicing.
  • Serve this bread with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
