Bake tender, juicy chicken breasts covered in a rich, creamy garlic parmesan sauce for a simple, flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning until smooth. This makes your creamy garlic chicken sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken breasts, making sure they are well coated.
  5. If using, sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the sauce for a cheesy garlic parmesan chicken crust.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Let the oven baked chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a low carb chicken bake option, skip the breadcrumbs.
  • This recipe works well as a one pan baked chicken meal.
  • Leftovers reheat nicely for easy lunches.
