Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch tenders
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes.
  3. In the first dish, whisk together the egg and water.
  4. In the second dish, place the flour.
  5. In the third dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Dip each chicken tender first into the flour, shaking off any excess.
  7. Next, dip the floured tender into the egg wash, letting excess drip off.
  8. Finally, press the tender firmly into the ranch breadcrumb mixture to coat completely.
  9. Place the coated tenders in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful, healthier tenders.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the coated tenders with cooking spray before baking.
  • Serve these tenders with your favorite dipping sauces, like Greek yogurt ranch or honey mustard.
  • You can use frozen chicken tenders if you thaw them completely first.
