Create your own delicious and healthy strawberry fruit roll-ups at home, just like the ones you loved as a kid, but made with real fruit and no artificial ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to the lowest setting, around 170°F (75°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the sliced strawberries in a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. Pour the strawberry puree into a saucepan. Add the honey or maple syrup and lemon juice.
  4. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly and reduces by about one-third. This will take about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Pour the thickened strawberry mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread it evenly into a thin layer, about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 2-4 hours, or until the fruit leather is no longer sticky to the touch and peels easily from the parchment paper. The time will vary depending on your oven and the thickness of the layer.
  7. Once baked, carefully peel the fruit leather from the parchment paper.
  8. Roll up the fruit leather tightly.
  9. Cut into desired roll-up sizes.

Notes

  • For a firmer roll-up, bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  • You can use other fruits like raspberries or blueberries in combination with strawberries.
  • Store the fruit roll-ups in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer storage.
