Ingredients
Scale
1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon white miso paste
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Sesame seeds for garnish
Sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, ginger, miso paste, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) to create the glaze.
Add the pressed tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss to coat them completely in the glaze.
Arrange the coated tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping the tofu halfway through, until the edges are slightly browned and the glaze is sticky.
Remove from the oven. Garnish immediately with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
Press your tofu well to remove excess water; this helps it crisp up better.
You can increase the miso slightly for a deeper umami flavor.
Serve this tofu over rice or alongside steamed vegetables.
