Make this simple, cold smoothie that tastes just like a classic orange creamsicle using natural ingredients for a refreshing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen orange juice concentrate cubes
  • 1 medium ripe banana, frozen
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or coconut milk (for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or more, for blending)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen orange juice concentrate cubes, frozen banana, Greek yogurt or coconut milk, vanilla extract, and almond milk into a high-speed blender.
  2. Add the optional sweetener if you prefer a sweeter taste.
  3. Start blending on low speed, gradually increasing to high. Use the tamper if necessary to push ingredients toward the blades.
  4. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and thick, resembling soft-serve ice cream. Add a splash more almond milk if the mixture is too thick to blend.
  5. Pour immediately into a glass and serve cold.

Notes

  • For a thicker, more milkshake-like texture, use frozen vanilla yogurt instead of Greek yogurt.
  • If you do not have frozen orange juice concentrate, use 1 cup of regular orange juice and add 1 cup of ice cubes instead.
  • To make this recipe vegan, use coconut milk or a non-dairy yogurt alternative.
