Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg, beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup marinara sauce
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, for topping
Fresh basil, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
While the meatballs are baking, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Once the meatballs are cooked, gently toss them in the warm marinara sauce.
Arrange the sauced meatballs on a serving platter.
Sprinkle with the remaining 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil, if desired.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a crispier exterior, you can pan-fry the meatballs before tossing them in sauce.
Feel free to add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture for a touch of heat.
These meatballs can be made ahead of time and reheated.
