Ingredients
Scale
2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
4 cups water
1 cup fresh ginger, thinly sliced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup lime juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Sparkling water or club soda, for serving
Fresh cranberries and mint sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine cranberries, water, and sliced ginger. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
Return the liquid to the saucepan. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, and cloves. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
Remove from heat and stir in lime juice. Let the mixture cool completely.
To serve, fill glasses with ice. Pour in about 1/2 cup of the spiced cranberry ginger mixture.
Top with sparkling water or club soda.
Garnish with fresh cranberries and a mint sprig.
Notes
For a less sweet drink, reduce the amount of sugar.
You can make the spiced cranberry ginger mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
