Make a creamy and refreshing Strawberry Brazilian Lemonade. This recipe blends fresh lemons, strawberries, and sweetened condensed milk for a unique texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium lemons, ends trimmed
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: 4 mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemons well. Cut two of the lemons into quarters. Leave one lemon whole for later.
  2. Place the quartered lemons, strawberries, sweetened condensed milk, and 2 cups of cold water into a high-speed blender. Blend until completely smooth. This may take 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract all the liquid. Discard the pulp and lemon rinds.
  4. Juice the remaining whole lemon. Add this fresh lemon juice to the pitcher.
  5. Stir in the remaining 2 cups of cold water. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding a little more water or a touch of sugar dissolved in a small amount of hot water.
  6. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve over ice. Garnish each glass with a mint leaf if desired.

Notes

  • For a less intense lemon flavor, you can blanch the quartered lemons in boiling water for 30 seconds before blending to reduce bitterness.
  • If you prefer a lighter drink, substitute half of the condensed milk with heavy cream or whole milk.
  • This recipe uses the whole lemon (peel and all) for the traditional flavor, so a powerful blender is recommended.
