These Turkey Cranberry Meatballs are a delightful blend of savory and sweet, perfect for holiday gatherings or a unique weeknight dinner. They combine tender ground turkey with the tartness of cranberries and aromatic spices, creating a flavor explosion in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped fresh cranberries, panko breadcrumbs, chopped onion, beaten egg, minced garlic, dried sage, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, whisk together the cranberry sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard.
  6. Heat the glaze over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it simmers and thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven. Pour the glaze over the hot meatballs and toss gently to coat.
  8. Return the glazed meatballs to the oven for another 2-3 minutes to allow the glaze to set.
  9. Serve warm as an appetizer or main dish.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
  • You can substitute dried cranberries for fresh, but reduce the amount slightly as they are more concentrated in flavor.
  • These meatballs can be made ahead of time and reheated.
