Make this rich, creamy Vegan Chocolate Avocado Pudding for a delightful dairy-free dessert. It is simple to prepare and tastes decadent.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe Hass avocados
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup plant-based milk (like almond or soy)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a food processor or high-speed blender.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, plant-based milk, vanilla extract, and salt to the food processor.
  3. Blend the ingredients until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.
  4. Taste the pudding. Add more maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter or more cocoa for a richer chocolate flavor.
  5. Divide the pudding into small serving bowls or ramekins.
  6. Chill the pudding in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow it to firm up slightly.
  7. Serve cold. You can top it with berries or shredded coconut if you wish.

Notes

  • Use very ripe avocados; this ensures the creamiest texture and masks any avocado flavor.
  • If you do not have a food processor, a high-powered blender works well, but you may need to add a tablespoon more liquid.
  • Store leftover pudding in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
